Ericeira
right on the coast, only 50 kms north of Lisbon, a small town living off fishing,
with white houses built round a deep blue harbour, and set between sandy beaches.
The town dates from 1229.

The town which has kept a lot of its character and architecture whilst providing plenty of attractions for visitors;
beautiful sandy beaches (some of which are a paradise for surfers),
plenty of bars and restaurants where you can enjoy delicious fresh seafood, tennis, mini-golf and a new public swimming pool.

The local museum has a model collection of traditional fishing boats and in July and August there are several festivals including colourful street processions.
15 minutes away there is the baroque palace and Monastery of Mafra - don’t miss the beautiful library - and lovely Sintra, so celebrated by Lord Byron, with its Royal Palaces and Toy Museum.
