Mourelos is on the south bank of the river Tejo, in
the area of Caparica (whose name according to
legend, comes from the discovery of a cloak (Capa)
full of gold coins (Rica)), right next to the

Obidos
OBIDOS Obidos (800m to town centre)
Dating back to the 19th century,
Casa d' Obidos was built by an engineer from the
Eiffel team, which was established there to lead
the railway construction. It's located in an
environmentally protected area, which allows the
guest to enjoy a quiet environment and magnificent

Palmela
RIO FRIO Pinhal Novo (Montijo
10km) Palacio de Rio Frio was built at
the beginning of this century. At the time it was
one of the biggest estates in the country mainly
producing wine. The house is decorated with
fabulous tiles. They illustrate the rural
communities at work, in particular in wine making.
In the main lounge the wall are completely covered
with colourful tiles typical of the Ribatejo
region. The house is surrounded by a beautiful
garden and stands in the middle of a small wood,
thus creating a peaceful atmosphere. Accommodation:

Peniche
CASTELO Atouguia da Baleia (Peniche
5km) Between fertile fields and sandy
beaches and in a refined and tranquil environment,
this is a 17th century manor house next to the
walls of a Moorish castle. The beauty of the
landscape and the richness of the monumental and
cultural heritage well deserve a visit.

Rio Maior
FORAL Rio Maior (100m from town
centre) Traditional construction of the
Ribatejo region from the end of the last century,
situated on a small rural town, Rio Maior. The same
family has owned the house for four generations.
Every room has a private bathroom, central heating
and air ventilated bathrooms. In one of the rooms
are walls decorated with traditional azulejos
originating from the end of the 18th century. In
the garden is a recreational space which allows the
guests to watch television, read and play snooker.
There's a swimming pool and the house is only 20km
from excellent beaches at Nazare, Sao Martinho do

Bonjardim, Serta 8km) This lovely country
house dates back to the 18th century. It's in the
beautiful region of Serta. A typical Portuguese
Quinta with rural traditions, surrounded by vines,
fruit trees and a wood, it's an ideal place for
relaxation, breathing in the pure mountain air and
walking along the banks of the rivers nearby.
